The intent of a healing separation—also known or referred to as a therapeutic separation—is for personal growth and to revitalize a marriage stuck in an endless cycle of destruction. The purpose of a healing separation is to allow each member of the couple some space to work, decompress, and process, with the end goal being to come back together in the home. This is not a trial separation or a legal separation. Both partners commit to dedicating time to achieve healing, however defined in the working separation and necessary.
